Interactive Project

My interactive project is a site called "Radio Garden". What started out as an exhibition project commissoned by the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision in 2016, turned into a popular and long-running site that allows users to hear music from radio stations around the world. The site was designed by Studio Puckey & Moniker, both Amsterdam based interactive designers (that have made quite a lot of other cool works). While interacting with the site I was with one of my friends, who is an international student here at UT from Ukraine. It was really fun to see how excited she got to find her country and play music from her home town and surrounding towns she's been to, which I think is especially why this site stuck out to me. It is both educational by allowing users to be exposed to music from all over, while keeping that fun and interactive element & leaving it up to the user to play with. The site does move a bit slow and took a good bit of my computers energy to work, but that is to be expected with a site running as much information constantly as this one does. It's very simple to navigate through and stay engaged in, if you're bored you can just travel to another country and flip through any of their stations. As someone who both loves all types of music and art, this was a fun project to explore.
